Is Thaba Phuti in a malaria area?
No, Thaba Phuti Safari Lodge is in a malaria free area. It is situated in the North West Province near the town Rustenburg. There is no need to use anti-malarial prophylactics, when visiting only this area.

Do you offer walking safaris?
Yes, we do walking safaris. A gentle morning stroll amongst the game or guided bush walks can be arranged.

What do we need to bring?

  • Sun hats, sunglasses, sun screen and lipbalm.
  • Comfortable walking shoes- track shoes or hiking boots are useful for bush walks. Sandals are useful for walking around the lodge.
  • Camera and binoculars.
  • Summer (October to February): lightweight clothing and swimwear, warm clothing (jacket) for early morning or late afternoon game drives and night drives.
  • Winter (April to August): light clothing for daytime, but very warm jackets for game drives.
